There will be a Bicycle Decoration Contest on Sunday July, the 13th at 2pm. Two age divisions, 13 and under and 14 and over, will compete in 5 categories - Bastille Bike, Country Bike, Bizarro Bike, Couture Bike and Vintage Bike. Ribbons will be awarded for each category with an overall Grand Prize. Participants throughout the region are encouraged. Sponsored by The Studio and The Widow McCrea House, the Bastille Evening Film Series will continue with this year’s selection, La Vie en Rose. Featuring Marion Cotillard’s Academy Award-winning performance as the beloved Edith Piaf, the film will be shown on Saturday the 12th around 9pm on the lawn between the Magnolia Building and the Frenchtown Inn.

This year’s Fete will include a new attraction called THE FUNBUS, or Fitness FUN on Wheels. A refurbished school bus that enhances classroom and home instruction, this supervised environment uses a hands-on approach to fitness by making it fun.

Returning events will include the Mock Turtle Marionette Theater at 3:30, both days. Their performances have been seen throughout the Northeast and they were an “interactive” crowd-pleaser at last years’ Fete.

Musical events will include Hunterdon county native, David Rounsaville. This singer/guitarist is a Frenchtown “favorite” and will perform music that spans genres and generations. In addition, the Teen Rock Band, the Common Ground, will be the “kickoff” event at 11am both days. Finally, by very popular demand, The Hunterdon Harmonizers, will return as “street-strolling” boulavadiers.

Additional store sponsored activities will be posted closer to the event date.
